IV Sedation
IV sedation or intravenous sedation is given to make you comfortable during surgery. It makes you less aware of what is going on around you during your treatment. We will provide you with specific details on eating or drinking, including when to stop before your visit. Be sure to have a responsible adult available to drive you to and from the appointment, and to stay with you after your appointment while you are recovering at home.
Laughing Gas
A common calming method used during routine dental treatment or surgery is laughing gas. Measured amounts of nitrous and oxygen are combined and breathed in through a mask over your nose. Unlike IV Sedation, you can drive yourself after using laughing gas.
